June 2013 on The Acoustic Storm

Last month, we lost a great one with the passing of Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist and one of the founding members of The Doors.  So we'll pay tribute to his rich musical legacy by featuring The Doors in the Eye of The Storm 6/8-6/9.

The Acoustic Storm will celebrate Father's Day 6/15-6/16 with some paternally-minded theme sets in the second half of each hour of the show, and Eric Clapton will get the spotlight that weekend.

Canadian acoustic-rock will be the main subject of the 6/29-6/30 Acoustic Storm with Neil Young in words and music in the Eye of the Storm.  Plus, you'll hear several other artists from the Great White North, including The Guess Who, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, and The Band.

Stay in The Storm by visiting the Acoustic Storm website, and as always, you can contact me anytime with your acoustic feedback.

Here's the line-up for June in the Eye of The Storm:

6/1-2 PINK FLOYD
6/8-9 DOORS (Ray Manzarek tribute)
6/15-16 ERIC CLAPTON (Father's Day theme sets)

For many Storm listeners, it's been a long, cold winter.  So we'll try to warm things up this month with some springtime songs the weekend of 3/23-3/24, and then a few baseball-inspired tunes the following weekend.

George Harrison would have been 70 on February 25, and for the weekend of 3/2-3/3, we'll remember George as a solo artist, with the Beatles, and as a member of the Traveling Wilburys.

St. Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday this year, so we'll salute the Emerald Isle with Van Morrison in the Eye of The Acoustic Storm the weekend of 3/16-3/17.

Here's The Eye of The Acoustic Storm line-up for this month:
